During the implementation of Activation Studio the partner of we help you setup the Data Designer. If you upgraded or if you implemented Activation Studio yourself, you will need to add the Score and Interaction Designer data extensions to the Data Designer. When connected the data will be available within the Segment Designer. Follow the steps below tho verify the integration or set it up.
Data Designer and Activation Studio
Activation Studio uses the relationships managed in the Data Designer to determine the relationships between data extensions. When setting up Activation Studio three data extension are created in the background that need to be added to the Data Designer.
- AS_Combined_Scores
- AS_InteractionsData
- AS_InteractionsVariables
Create an Attribute Group for Score Designer
- Navigate to the Contact Builder >> Data Designer
- Click ‘Create Attribute Group’
- Name the the Attribute Group ‘AS_Score_Designer’
- Click ‘Link Data Extension’
- Unfold the folders and navigate to the ActivationStudio folder. ActivationStudio >> AS_Score_Designer >> AS_Scores
- Choose the data extension called ‘AS_Combined_Scores’
- Map Customer Date ‘ContactKey’ with AS_Combined_Scores ‘SubscriberKey’ and choose one-to-one relationship
- Click ‘Save’
After saving the link the ‘AS_Score_Designer’ Attribute Group should like the screenshot below.
Create an Attribute Group for Interaction Designer
- Navigate to the Contact Builder >> Data Designer
- Click ‘Create Attribute Group’
- Name the the Attribute Group ‘AS_Interaction_Designer’
- Click ‘Link Data Extension’
- Unfold the folders and navigate to the ActivationStudio folder. ActivationStudio >> AS_Interaction_Designer >> AS_Interactions
- Choose the data extension called ‘AS_InteractionsData’
- Map Customer Date ‘ContactKey’ with AS_InteractionsData ‘SubscriberKey’ and choose one-to-many relationship
- Click ‘Save’
- Link another data extension by clicking the icon right of the data extension we linked above
- Unfold the folders and navigate to the ActivationStudio folder. ActivationStudio >> AS_Interaction_Designer >> AS_InteractionsVariables
- Choose the data extension called ‘AS_InteractionsVariables’
- Map AS_InteractionsData ‘id’ with AS_InteractionsVariables ‘interaction_id’ and choose one-to-many relationship
- Click ‘Save’
Your new Attribute Group called ‘AS_Interaction_Designer’ should now look like the screenshot below.
How does this look like in Activation Studio?
When creating a new segment or creating a new scoring rule, you will see the the AS_Interaction_Designer and AS_Score_Designer Attribute Groups on the left. Start using scores and past interactions as criteria for your segments. Let’s create our first segment in Marketing Cloud!
